The contestants on the reality TV show provide the judge with personalized service for his or her previously unseen stunning drinks. Only three of the twelve finalists advanced to the championship round.
One of them was Kate Gerwin. Gerwin, a California native who now calls Albuquerque home and works as a mixologist and bartender, was born there.
She participated in Drink Masters’ inaugural season in the hopes of pleasing her family. Early in life, she found her passion and calling in bartending, and she wanted to make a career out of it. Read on to learn more about Kate Gerwin, a contestant from season one of Drink Masters.
In the Drink Masters competition, Gerwin made it to the final round and came in as the second runner-up. The judges Frankie Salorik and Julie Reiner were especially impressed with her bartending skills and self-assurance.
After falling in love with bartending and mixology at a young age, Kate has become a force to be reckoned with in the industry. The participant had previously competed in events before Drink Masters. In the past, Gerwin has faced off against several other mixologists from Washington and New York.
In the first challenge, Kate Gerwin’s cocktails immediately impressed the judges. But as the competition got tougher, she started to falter a little. Gerwin recovered swiftly and proceeded to the finals, where she faced Tao Zafri and Lauren Paylor.
Among Gerwin’s additional accomplishments is his triumph in the Bols Around The World Bartending competition. She was the first American woman and national to get an international bartending honor. After winning, Gerwin went on to work as a GM at HSL Hospitality and Abbott Square Market.
The Happy Accidents Bar is currently run by Kate Gerwin; it was founded by her in 2020. Since opening, her bar has also gotten a lot of recognition. In 2022, she was given the Best New US Bar Award and the Albuquerque Journal Readers’ Choice Award. According to Gerwin’s Instagram profile, she was also featured in several media outlets and was admitted into the Dame Hall of Fame. Despite all of her successes, she never stops working to further her skills and advance.
