Street Renamed in His Honor
The former baseball great, known as “The Cobra,” has received numerous accolades in the community where he grew up. His passion for playing on the pitch began as a youngster in the South Cumminsville neighborhood, around Borden and Elmore streets. Today, a boulevard named after him commemorates his accomplishments.
“It is a complete circle. He’s been overjoyed since he learned about it. Kellye Parker, Dave’s wife, stated, “He’s always worked hard, and it’s great that he’s being recognized in his hometown and neighborhood.”
