Twelve bakers are prepared to fight for $25,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to America’s ten haunted houses at Hotel Henson in the Halloween Baking Championship. Monday, September 12 at 9:00 p.m.

Lauren Roger’s bakery Gotti Sweets was spit upon in February 2021. The same month that her store was vandalized, the N-word was spray-painted on a vehicle parked outside her shop. In response, the contestant for the Halloween Baking Championship replied,

The hate crimes and unfriendly behavior are terrifying.

Rogers, like many others in her community, feared the police and did not notify them of the racist graffiti. She said,

You have been warned not to contact the police, or they will shoot you.

Lauren’s Instagram post of the spray paint caught the attention of Olympia Police Officer Vasile Kovzun. He returned the following day and promised to investigate the incident.

Also, Officer Vasile and his colleagues increased foot patrols in the area. Police were astonished to discover that a member of their community did not have faith in them and opted to help Lauren. Rogers commended their efforts, stating

I didn’t expect a response from the city, and I didn’t think people were paying that much attention.

The police currently have no leads in the investigation. Lauren Rogers is a contestant in the Halloween Baking Championship.

Lauren is from Washington and is renowned for her custom-made cakes. She desires to win the competition in order to make her grandmother, with whom she used to create holiday treats, proud.

Lauren enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu Western Culinary Academy in Portland, Oregon, to pursue her passion professionally.

In 2018, she opened her own boutique in Olympia, Washington, named Gotti Sweets. Lauren is well-known for her “custom-order bakery by appointment” and custom-made cakes.

She has 15 years of experience baking cakes, cupcakes, pies, and cookies. Her consumers can also get cake by the slice, French macarons, peanut butter, and frosted molasses cookies. Little pastries covered in flaky pastry and filled with fruit, Pie Tots are a signature item of Lauren’s bakery.
