The sole child of actor Ed Harris and his longtime wife, Amy Madigan, is Lily Dolores Harris, also known as Lilly Harris. Since 1975, Lily’s father has worked as an actor. Lily Harris, who is now 28 years old, was born on May 3, 1993. Her grandfather, Robert L. “Bob” Harris (1922–2014), who was also Ed Harris’ father, performed with the Fred Waring chorus, and her paternal grandmother, Margaret (née Sholl), were both travel agents. He was employed by the Art Institute of Chicago’s bookstore.

John J. Madigan, her maternal grandpa, was a well-known journalist who worked for Newsweek magazine (1918–2012). Dolores (née Hanlon; 1921–1992), an administrative assistant and aspiring actress who appeared in local theater, gave Lily her middle name.
Lily, the daughter of Ed and Amy, received an English degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. She then decided to pursue a career in acting instead of teaching, academia, or horseback riding.
She spent some time performing on stage and in Portland after graduating from college. A solo performance of Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar are just a couple of the credits in this category.
She also attended the MFA Acting program at the American Conservatory Theater. She heard from a friend about the MFA program at A.C.T. The Los Angeles native auditioned intending to hone her skills, and she was accepted into the class of 2020.
Lily claims that she fell in love with acting because of Shakespeare. According to rumors, she also enjoys reading about horses, medieval literature, and earl grey tea.
Is Lily Dolores Harris an established performer?
In the 2009 short film The Three Labors of Oliver, she made her debut on screen. Lily played the female twin Hayden in the film directed by Matt Feener, Ben Guaraldi, and Desiree McMahon.

What Motivated Her to Pick Acting?
Ed Harris’ daughter opened up about what precisely prompted her to switch her interest from academics to performing arts in an interview with the American Conservatory Theater.
She said that sharing herself with others has always come far more naturally to her. She added that she thinks acting allows her to share aspects of herself that she might not have felt comfortable doing in her regular life.
