World-famous chef Ludovic Lefebvre spent 12 years in France learning under luminaries of French cuisine like Guy Martin, Alain Passard, Pierre Gagnaire, and Marc Meneau.

After finishing his studies in France, Lefebvre started working at upscale restaurants like L’Orangerie and ultimately Bastide. He created his dishes, including Panna Cotta with caviar in a salted-butter caramel sauce and Poularde marinated in Pepsi-Cola with popcorn. , , and

Soon after, while the Bastide restaurant was closed for repairs, he came up with the novel dining concept known as LudoBites, which Pulitzer Prize–winning LA Weekly critic Jonathan Gold later referred to as a “transforming moment” in the city’s culinary scene.
