Next Level Chef, one of Gordon Ramsay’s popular reality cooking competition shows, features him as an executive producer and coach. The second season of the show is about to begin, introducing fans to 13 new chefs.
Next Level Chef season 2 will feature 13 exceptional cooks competing to impress Gordon Ramsay and the other two culinary experts. They’ll be put to the ultimate test in a three-story kitchen, where they’ll have to demonstrate their skills.
Mark McMillian, a former NFL player, and Emmy Award winner, is one of the Next Level Chef season 2 cooks. Mark won an Emmy Award in October 1995 for his work on Randall Cunningham’s monthly pregame show. He was a defensive back for the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite his eight years of athletic experience, he has only three years of cooking experience.
The official summary for Next Level Chef season 2 is as follows:
“Next Level Chef” is the next evolution in cooking competitions, produced by Studio Ramsay Global and FOX Alternative Entertainment, with Ramsay creating a one-of-a-kind culinary gauntlet set on an iconic stage like you’ve never seen before.
It continued, saying:
“A strikingly diverse kitchen can be found on each level of the three-story building. The ingredients complement the atmosphere, from the gleaming top floor to the tough bottom of the basement, because Ramsay believes that “the ultimate measure of a great chef is not what they can achieve in the best of circumstances, but what kind of magic they can produce in the worst!”

Participant in Next Level Chef Season 2 Mark won the high school sprinting championship
A high school sprint champion turned NFL running back turned chef. He enrolled in Glendale Junior College in California for two years. His outstanding performance earned him notoriety and a scholarship to play for the University of Alabama under legendary coach Gene Stallings. Mark still holds the school record for the longest interception touchdown. His official website states:
“Mark was drafted in the 10th round by the Philadelphia Eagles and was named to the coveted All-Madden Team as a rookie.”

“After a brief stint as a New Orleans Saint, McMillian had some of his most notable accomplishments as a cornerback with the Kansas City Chiefs under coach Marty Schottenheimer. McMillian, who stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, earned the nickname “Mighty Mouse” from his teammates and fans in 1997 after a spectacular season that included 8 interceptions (tied for the NFL lead) and three defensive touchdowns (longest 87 yards).
Mark also set a club record for the Chiefs with 274 yards returned. He now resides in Los Angeles and works with a number of organizations to better the lives of children and young people.
