Who Is Matt Goss From “Strictly Come Dancing” 2022?

Strictly Come Dancing

The 20th season of Strictly Come Dancing will premiere on September 23. The show has returned after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Matt Goss, 53, is one of the Strictly Come Dancing contestants.

He made headlines in 2016 after reconnecting with his brother Luke Bros and singing for their band ‘Bros’ after 25 years apart. Anton, Shirley, Craig, and Motsi will all return as judges, with Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly as hosts. Strictly Come Dancing is a ballroom dance reality show in which celebrities perform with professional dancers.

The official Strictly Come Dancing synopsis reads:

“As the Bafta Award-winning show returns to BBC One, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will walk the red carpet for the class of 2019. The star-studded cast will then make their way to the Strictly ballroom for the first time, eager to find out which professional dancer they will be paired with in their quest for the coveted Glitter Ball trophy.”

Matt Goss of Strictly Come Dancing earned £10 million on a European tour with his brother Luke

Matthew Weston Goss is a songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer of the 1980s pop group Bros, which also featured his twin brother Luke on drums. He is also a solo artist, having released five studio albums. Despite this, he wrote the theme song for Nigel Lithgow’s So You Think You Can Dance.

His band was also well-known as the prototypical 1980s boy band. It all came to an end, however, when they collapsed into a heap of debt and internal strife. Three years later, Luke informed Matt that they were divorcing:

“I’ve completed my task. It’s no longer pleasurable.”

However, events changed course. The schism between the two brothers was repaired when Luke called Matt 25 years later. Matt and Luke Goss reformed Bros three months after the reunion after meeting at a Hollywood restaurant. After the news of their reconciliation broke, tickets for their reunion show at London’s O2 sold out in seven seconds.

Furthermore, the Strictly Come Dancing contestant stated in an interview with Mirror:

“We didn’t get along and didn’t talk for a long time,” she admits.

He continued, saying:

“I have to admit that it was all very difficult and very personal.” Everything changed after the handshake. Luke is my best friend once more.”

Matt then discussed the two brothers’ similarities:

“We were born on the same day, went to the same school, and grew up together.”

He then added:

“We were in the same band back then.” We had essentially one identity. It was overkill.”

Furthermore, despite living in the Los Angeles area, they rarely saw each other after the band broke up, as Luke pursued a career as an actor, appearing in films such as Blade II, and Matt pursued a successful solo career. However, after their beloved mother Carol died of cancer in 2014, their relationship’s stresses began to ease. Strictly Come Dancing will premiere on BBC One at 7:00 p.m. ET on September 23.
