Michelle Buteau plays Mavis Beaumont, a driven woman who works in Manhattan as an assistant fashion stylist. Netflix provides a binge-worthy experience with its adaptation of Michelle Buteau’s novel Survival of the Thickest. In the show, Buteau plays Mavis Beaumont, who is trying to start over after a tragic breakup with her lover Jacque, played by Taylor Selé, in a small-space Brooklyn flat.
The American actor and stand-up comedian, 45, was born in New Jersey on July 24, 1977. She started performing in comedic events in 2001. Towards the end of her five-year tenure, Michelle Buteau appeared on Comedy Central.
