Blind auditions for Season 22 of NBC’s The Voice began on Monday, September 19. Morgan Myles was the first contestant to take the stage this season.
The 35-year-old country singer’s flawless rendition of Hallelujah wowed the judges. Morgan is a traveling country singer and composer who has performed alongside Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Jr., and Morgan Wallen.
She not only won Season 22’s first four-chair round, but she also placed first in the blind auditions. Camila Cabello, a first-time judge, was so moved by her performance that she used her coach’s block to block Gwen Stefani. Thankfully, everything worked out, and Morgan chose Camila as her coach on this season of The Voice. Because the candidate has a strong range and voice, she is unlikely to be eliminated. So, who exactly is Morgan Myles? More information about the country music star is provided below.
Morgan, a Voice contestant, has just released her first full-length album
Morgan grew up in Pennsylvania before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2009, where she has remained ever since. According to her Instagram, she is a soulful singer and composer. Morgan has traveled the United States as a full-time musician, performing in 55 different states and sharing the stage with many great country music performers, including her idol, Reba McEntire (aka “The Queen of Country”).
She stated that after her blind auditions, she had opened for The Voice’s original judge Blake Shelton. Morgan stated in an interview with CMT that she has had a love of music since she was a child.
“When I was alone, I’d go to the piano and start playing and singing. I suppose it’s just always been a part of me. Music provides me with solace, fulfillment, and release. It has never let me down.”
Morgan is influenced by Eva Cassidy and Carole King, as well as Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Susan Tedeschi, according to her website. She gets a lot of inspiration from female musicians:
“I was inspired by strong female role models because I aspired to be just like them. Choose your favorite diva and know that I was channeling her spirit.”
Morgan’s debut studio album, “Therapy,” was released in 2020. According to her official website, the album was inspired by the death of her 33-year-old cousin from brain cancer. Morgan claims that her time as a nanny for children whose mother died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inspired her to write more introspective songs. According to her website:
I’ve been through a lot, both emotionally and psychologically, but I now see my musical and personal purpose in life more clearly than ever before. Morgan will be featured more prominently in upcoming episodes now that she has advanced past the first round of blind auditions. Every Monday night at 8 p.m., NBC broadcasts The Voice live. Readers should consult their local programming for more information.
