French grew up in Westminster, England, where his mother Lavinia (Burke) French became a devoted homemaker and his father Maurice was an army officer. His parents recognized and encouraged his natural gift for literature at a young age.

They provided him with a strong foundation of moral ideals and beliefs that would help to define his character, and they enthusiastically encouraged his ambitions to become a writer. Acknowledging his innate penchant for writing, Patrick French set about recording his ideas as they occurred to him. He furthered his education in English and American literature at the esteemed University of Edinburgh, where he developed his literary knowledge and abilities.

Patrick became well-known in the literary world over time. He wrote several best-selling works that brought him widespread recognition as a great and accomplished writer. Throughout his life, the Frenchman encountered both the pleasures and difficulties of matrimony.

He married Abigail Ashton-Johnson for the first time, and the two had three children together. However, a divorce ultimately brought their marriage to an end. He thereafter met Meru Gokhale and fell in love. The addition of a son to Patrick French and Meru Gokhale’s family strengthened their relationship even more.

Regretfully, cancer claimed Patrick Rollo Basil French’s life; he died in London on March 16, 2023, at the age of 56. Even though he passed away too soon, his creative works and life experiences have a lasting influence that motivates readers and other writers.

He was given a unique chance to meet with the esteemed Dalai Lama because of the profound insights he shared in this work. Patrick French released “The World Is What It Is” in 2008.
