When Terry Fontenot signed with the Saints in 2003, he was single. Before being named director of pro scouting after ten seasons, he started his career as an NFL scout.
In 2020, Terry received a promotion to vice president of professional people and deputy general manager. By this time, Terry and Tanya had four kids, the youngest of whom was born during the pandemic. Coach Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff were fired, and Terry took over as their replacement. Raheem Morris, the new head coach of the Falcons, was recently introduced by Terry, and the two of them pledged to get along well.
Meet Tanya Fontenot, Terry’s wife
When Terry Fontenot first met Tanya Fontenot (née Prudhome) in 1997, he already knew that they would marry. The general manager of the Falcons played football as a sophomore at LaGrange High School, where Tanya was a freshman cheerleader.
Terry talks about his first interaction with Tanya in an interview. Terry was getting ready to head to a football game with his friends. Fontenot looked at Tanya before getting on the bus, and he started performing more pushups right away.
Their next meeting took place at Taco Bell when Terry asked his friends to help him divert Tanya’s friends so he could talk to her for a while. In their joint interview, Tanya stated that she didn’t show interest in Terry at their initial meetings. But she found the football manager instantly to be a very kind man, and she believed Terry would be a great husband. A football couple named Terry and Tanya grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The two previously appeared in an ESPN article following Hurricane Laura’s destruction. Mike and Josetta Prudhome, Tanya’s parents, live close to Lake Charles and are affected by the fallout. Although Tanya’s family home was severely damaged, Tanya and her four kids didn’t realize the full depth of the hurricane’s devastation until they went to Lake Charles to say goodbye to her grandfather.
Terry and Tanya wanted to support their hometown. The two stated that they were generating ideas about what and how they may do this in an ESPN piece from 2021. Tanya is on Facebook, where she has posted a few family photos in the past.
Shortly after taking over as general manager of the Falcons, Terry Fontenot made a video presentation of his kids. The video featured sounds from his wife and another child in the background, along with his three older children.
Terry said in the video that because his three older children had grown up cheering on the New Orleans Saints, it was hard for them to leave Louisiana. When Terry first began working in Louisiana, he was not even married. The first child of Terry and Tanya was a girl who, like her mother, appeared to be interested in cheering.
Tanya has shared a couple of videos of her cheerleader daughter in action. Kaiden, Terry’s second child, appears to have a passion for football. On draft night in 2022, Kaiden was seen sporting the same attire as his father. 2019 saw the birth of Landree Marie, the couple’s third child, and a gender reveal ceremony for the family.
The family welcomed a baby girl in 2020, who was their most recent addition. Previously, a large number of images from the Fontenots family’s initial trip to Atlanta in 2021 were shown on the Atlanta Falcons website.
