Most people are familiar with Veronica Gutierrez as the mother of American professional basketball player Devin Booker, who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association. She’s a cosmetologist by profession.

At the Continental Basketball Association’s Grand Hoops, Veronica first runs into Devin’s basketball player father, Melvin Booker. Melvin played with the Grand Rapids Mackers from 1995 to 1996. Following their first meeting, the two started dating and eventually fell in love. The couple grew closer over time, and on October 30, 1996, Devin was born.
At the time, Veronica and Melvin were not wed but shared a residence. Melvin, Veronica’s companion, excelled in volleyball and played for three NBA teams.
He was never thought of as a basketball legend, however; rather, he was renowned as an international player who played the most of his career abroad, mainly in Europe and Asia. He has formerly played for Khimki, Scavolina Pesaro, and Sony Milano. Despite not being a star, he has a strong understanding of the game, which helps a player have a good career.
Sadly, Veronica and Melvin’s charming relationship did not last for very long. Even before saying their vows, the couple parted ways and started living separately. Despite never being married, they decided to co-parent Devin’s upbringing. The pair had a great working relationship even after their divorce.
He mostly looked after him when Melvin played abroad. Only during the summer months did Devin get to see his father in Moss Point, Mississippi, where a sizable part of the locals were black.
Since he was in elementary school, Devin has been involved in basketball. He was inspired to develop his basketball skills and pursue a career in the sport after his exceptional performance in high school. He was admitted to numerous colleges after graduating from high school, but he choose to play for the University of Kentucky, where he spent several years.
He was chosen by the Phoenix Suns with the 13th overall pick in 2015. After concluding the 2015–2016 season there, he took part in the “Rookie of the Year award.”
Later, he received recognition as a member of the NBA’s All-Rookie First Team. He recorded the NBA’s youngest player with 60 points in a single game in March 2017. He became the youngest player in NBA history to have consecutive 50-point games thanks to his outstanding performance, which also elevated him to one of the team’s top players.
Veronica has two other children from a previous relationship in addition to Melvin. Her son Davon Wade is a Western Michigan University alumnus. Other than the fact that he is a real estate entrepreneur, not much is known about him. Mya Powell, her daughter, is the next kid and suffers from Microdeletion Syndrome.
