He Cashman was held responsible for two charges of gun possession for the purpose of endangering life, inflicting serious bodily injury on Cheryl Korbel, and attempting to kill Joseph Nee.
His family contended in the courtroom that he was innocent after being found guilty of the crime, and he shook his head and wiped tears from his eyes.
His girlfriend Kayleeanne Sweeney sat down next to them while his family sobbed, her head in her hands. Family members of Thomas Cashman, including his sister, walked out of the courtroom while shouting and pledging to prove his innocence.
She argued that her brother was not responsible for Olivia’s death as she was being escorted from the courtroom by police officers and court security.
The Manchester Crown Square Crown Court previously heard during a three-and-a-half-week trial that Cashman “lay in wait” for Nee while carrying two loaded weapons as Nee was watching a football game between Liverpool FC and Manchester United on television at his friend Timmy Naylor’s house at Finch Lane.
As he and Paul Abraham were leaving the area, a self-loading Glock-style weapon was pointed at them from behind by the gunman.
