Gloria passed away on February 26, 2018, as was made clear by the Netflix series. According to the Source, Gloria sought medical care after suffering an injury while working at Murdaug House on February 2, 2018.
Gloria had reportedly collapsed while ascending the steps to the Murdaugh House, according to Alex’s wife. The victim was killed in a fatal fall when she stumbled over the Murdaugh family dogs on the stairs.
She fell down the steps on February 2, 2018, as they had stated. However, it was determined after some research and reporting that she passed away on February 26 of the same year.
After additional investigation, the Murdaugh team member disclosed that she had found Alex’s drug bag and had given it to Paul. Gloria may have known more than simply a bag of narcotics, according to Morgan’s parents Bill and Diane Doughty, and this may have contributed to Morgan’s demise. The prosecution has said that they do not intend to seek the death penalty for the defendant, but rather a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of release. The judge has opted against seeking the death penalty and will instead sentence him to life in prison. The killer might serve the remainder of his life in jail or more than 30 years.
Judge Clifton Newman informed the court that Murdaugh’s sentencing hearing will take place on Friday at 9:30 am. In homicide instances like these, South Carolina permits prosecutors to seek the death sentence. However, the state attorney general’s office said in December 2022 that after carefully considering the case, they had chosen to ask for a life sentence without the possibility of parole for Alex Murdaugh.
Murdaugh is accused of more than 100 financial and drug-related offenses. In his testimony, he said that his son takes narcotics and has previously seen him dealing with them. After shooting his wife and younger son many times at their home, Alex was convicted guilty of their deaths.
