The departure of CEO Brian Humphries of Cognizant, the top IT company in the world, grabbed news when Infosys veteran Ravi Kumar was named the new CEO.
The former CEO of the American multinational provider of information technology services and consulting, Cognizant, is Brian Humphries.
According to the Cognizant personnel description, as CEO, Brian upholds the company’s client-first culture and prioritizes long-term shareholder value creation and sustainable development. In addition, he establishes the company’s strategic orientation.
Brian was the CEO of Vodafone Business, a part of Vodafone Group, from 2017 to 2019 before joining Cognizant.
In Northern Ireland, Brian completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Ulster.

On January 12, 2023, famous global IT company Cognizant hired former Infosys president Ravi Kumar, to take a look at the developing unpredictable tech sector.
According to sources, on March 15, 2023, Brian Humphries, the company’s departing CEO, would be succeeded by Ravi.
The Board should have taken action due to Cognizant’s sustained underperformance, and a leadership transition was required.
The company said that Surya Gummadi, a 24-year Cognizant veteran, would take over as President of Cognizant Americas after Kumar’s appointment.
“He joined the Company four years ago to reposition and transform Cognizant into a leading digital transformation Company and during my tenure as CEO and honored to have led the Company,” the outgoing CEO said on his LinkedIn page after him.

The moment Cognizant announced that experienced Infosys employee Ravi Kumar would take over as CEO in place of Brian Humphries, the company became the talk of the town.
In a statement after his appointment, Ravi said he was thrilled to join Cognizant and that the company had a strong history of innovation and a committed focus on its clients.
Ravi joined Cognizant as the new CEO after a 20-year career at Infosys. Prior to joining Cognizant, he had a number of executive positions and was President from January 2016 to October 2022.
With over 20 years of expertise leading large-scale transformative initiatives, launching new practice lines, and creating new business models based on industry sectors, Ravi was recently named the CEO.
According to Times Now, Cognizant also said that Surya Gummadi will take over as President of Cognizant Americas in conjunction with the change in the CEO position.
Surya, a 24-year Cognizant employee, has been serving in the position temporarily since July 2022. Previously, he was SVP of the company’s Health Sciences business division.
Surya joined the company last month and assumed the role of president of Cognizant Americas, taking over for Gregory Hyttenrauch, who was let go by the company for “behavior inconsistent with Company policy.”

Brian is a well-rounded technology executive with a track record of implementing targeted execution strategies based on competitive market sectors to drive enterprise-wide change.
He was employed at Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq in the early years of his career.
Later, he went to Dell after more than 10 years of service with Hewlett-Packard in a variety of high positions, including high Vice President, Emerging Markets.
According to sources, Brian unexpectedly left his position as president of the massive IT services company Infosys Ltd. in order to join a professional services firm.
