Why Is Joe Gatto leaving Impractical Jokers?

Joe Gatto

Over the past ten years, Impractical Jokers has kept us entertained, but the most recent information will make every fan happy.

Joe Gatto, one-fourth of the renowned comedy cast of the truTV series, has announced his resignation due to personal matters. On April 2, the show will return with a special “supersized” episode that will make its debut on TBS, TNT, and TruTV.

What led Joe to leave Impractical Jokers?

On December 31, Joe made his retirement official in a “more somber-than-usual” Instagram post. In the message, he asserted that he would leave Impractical Jokers.

He claimed that he and his friends had invested ten years of their lives in building this enterprise, and he was incredibly proud of what they had all accomplished. He had to leave though because of personal reasons. Joe disclosed that his marriage to Bessy had ended and that he would take time off from work to focus on being the best co-parent and father to their two children.

He also gave praise to his former friends Murr, Q, and Sal, all of whom work for his comics firm, The Tenderloins.
He wished them the best of luck in the future as they continued on their journey together. Joe ended by expressing his gratitude to the audience for their support throughout the years.

Q, Sal, and Murr responded to Joe Gatto’s Instagram post about leaving Impractical Jokers after it gained over a million likes and numerous comments.

Fans were heartbroken by his departure, but they respected his decision to leave the show. His co-stars gave a similar response, and the three of them shared a touching statement on Instagram. After quitting Impractical Jokers, Joe Gatto will continue to work on solo projects and perform live.

On Monday, the premiere date for the special episode was revealed at the Television Critics Association’s virtual winter press tour. Since Joe Gatto left the program in August, this will be the first brand-new episode to air. Along with Eric André from The Eric André Show as a special guest, regulars Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr,” and Sal Vulcano will all be back.
