A new dating show on Discovery+ called Written in the Stars will soon debut. Participants are paired according to their birth charts. The show’s first season will begin on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at three in the morning ET. The plot summary for Written in the Stars is as follows:
The world’s top astrologers manage the contestants’ love lives in the popular new reality/dating series “Written in the Stars.”
In this social experiment, twelve single strangers will each symbolize one of the 12 zodiac signs. These strangers will travel to Greece with the help of astrologers in order to find love.
Written in the Stars’ first season follows the love searches of 12 strangers
12 single individuals seeking love will visit a villa in Porto Heli, Greece, for Written in the Stars, only to learn that they have been matched with someone based on their birth chart. There will be ten “emotionally intense” episodes of the show.
According to VICE, “Love Island meets Married At First Sight, but with horoscopes” is how Written in the Stars is best described. A DJ and presenter for BBC Radio 1, Clara Amfo, will serve as the show’s host for its first season. Regarding presenting the forthcoming program, Clara said to POPSUGAR:
I can still hear myself saying, “This is the dating show for me.” Because astrology has been so embedded in our culture, I believe in it. Apparently, no Virgos were accepted for Jennifer Lopez’s dancing audition, according to a rumor I had heard. However, I don’t think I’d go that far!
Clara thinks Written In The Stars is the perfect remedy for modern dating, because “we’ve become a commodity.” She also thinks that the program can give people new hope for finding true love because they no longer have the “patience” to build lasting relationships.
Amfo even thinks that the program is running at the perfect time since “[astrology] is more acceptable in society now than it was six or seven years ago.”
Three astrologers who specialize in birth charts and astrology, Michele Knight, Francesca Oddie, and Colin Bedell, will match the singles based only on their star charts. Astrology is no laughing matter for Michele Knight, and the show’s premise is no gimmick. To Vice, she uttered:
She says, “I grew up in a great family since my mother was clairvoyant. “It saved my life, transformed my life, and changed my life.” I came from an extremely bad family, and I am positive astrology guided me. It really is that profound; my birth chart was my parents’ absence.
To ascertain the contestants’ suitability, they will take part in a number of exercises. The six couples will live together for the duration of a lunar cycle after they have been paired (around 29.5 days). There won’t be any participants removed from the show. There will also be no winners or losers in the program. However, if they do not connect with their partners or are removed, competitors may abandon the program.
