David Miranda is gay, as reported. On Ipanema Beach in February 2005, he accidently knocked Glenn Greenwald’s drink over while playing volleyball. The couple moved in together after a week. After they initially met, Greenwald pushed Miranda to go back to school, and in 2014, he earned his degree from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM).
Both Greenwald and Miranda were openly homosexual, and they were married. In 2017, the couple adopted two siblings. Glenn Edward Greenwald is a lawyer, author, and journalist from the United States. on 1996, Greenwald founded a law firm that specialized on First Amendment cases.
He began writing on national security issues in October 2005 as his worries about what he saw as a violation of civil rights by the George W. Bush Administration in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks intensified. He first voiced opposition to the Iraq War and has since continued to criticize American foreign policy.
David Miranda’s Family History
Miranda was reared at Jacarezinho, Rio de Janeiro. He moved live with an aunt when he was five when his mother died away. He left his family when he was 13 and worked odd jobs for six years before returning. David Miranda spent the first several years of his career writing, working as an editor and a columnist for the Brazilian daily O Globo.
When Miranda began dating American Journalist Glenn Greenwald in 2013, the relationship garnered considerable media attention. David’s spouse, Greenwald, broke the news about the National Security Agency’s surveillance program in light of Edward Snowden’s disclosures.
In 2016, Miranda ran for election in the Rio de Janeiro City Council as a member of the PSOL and triumphed with more than 50,000 votes. As president of the City Council’s Human Rights Commission, he worked on issues including police brutality, LGBTQ+ rights, and minority rights.
He placed a high priority on digital rights, privacy, and journalistic freedom while in Congress. In 2018, Miranda stood for election to the Brazilian Congress as a federal deputy. He was one of Rio de Janeiro’s most well-liked candidates after receiving more than 146,000 votes.
Miranda was targeted by Brazilian politicians and President Jair Bolsonaro’s friends for his outspoken criticism of the administration. The Brazilian politician was intimidated and received death threats as a result of his job as a journalist and politician.
