Mark Wiens and Ying Wiens: Son, Wedding, and How Did They Meet?

Ying and Mark Wiens met for the first time in Bangkok, Thailand.

After traveling through South Asia for a while, Mark ended up in Bangkok, where he decided to become an English teacher. During his time there, Mark also began to blog and meet other food enthusiasts. As a result, he came across Ying.

Mark revealed,

“Without her, I would not have been able to explore and discover Thai food.”

The couple married in July 2013, and it was a “cake to remember,” literally! The couple decided to make their wedding cake out of their favorite fruit, “Durian.” Though you may have mixed feelings about it, Mark stated that their guests, who numbered only 50 people, “enjoyed it.”

In November 2016, Ying and Mark welcomed their first child, Micah, three years after their marriage. Mark used his YouTube video titled “Say Hello to Micah Wiens!” to inform his fans of the good news. Also, the couple stated that they wanted their child’s first name to be English and his middle name to be Thai.

According to reports, Micah, while still in the belly, “hadn’t turned,” which means his head was facing up rather than down.
