Veteran Korean actor Youn Yuh-jung recently revealed that she was asked to try out for the role she portrayed in the initial Pachinko episode of Apple TV+.

The actor, who has been in the entertainment business for about 50 years, continued by saying that it was useless to apply for a role after so many years in the business.
Youn Yuh-Jung said at a recent Pachinko press conference:
“It didn’t make sense for me to audition after decades of performing,” you said.
She added that while she was aware of the audition process utilized by actors in America for roles, she was not accustomed to going through it as a Korean. Youn Yuh-Jung was taken aback when he was asked to attend a Pachinko audition.
“In our business, if I auditioned and the show said, “We don’t believe you’re suited for this role,” people will say, “Youn Yuh-Jung failed the audition,” Youn Yuh-Jung said why she was surprised when she was asked to apply for the part. I threw the eight scripts that were delivered to the front door because I couldn’t afford to jeopardize my 50-year career for this one job.
She revealed that she had taped the audition for the show after making sure she would land the position. She remarked,
“They invited me to participate in the theater, which I did after being persuaded that wasn’t the case. There may have been as many as six auditions, but I was only present for four.
The New York Times bestseller Pachinko from the same period served as the inspiration for the Apple TV+ original. In a historical fiction drama, the program will follow the life of a Korean family as they immigrate to Japan. The web series’ cast includes Lee Min-ho, Jin Ha, and Kim Min-ha, and it will debut on the streaming service on March 25.
In the intriguing teaser for the show, Lee Min-ho appears in a brand-new persona. The actor will next be seen on television in the SBS K-drama The King: Eternal Monarch, which will be watched by his admirers.
