Due to his immaculate character portrayals, Cillian-Murphy has acquired the reputation of being a “bad guy” among viewers. Fans have questioned whether or not the tattoos seen on film are real after six seasons of watching him as the feisty “Tommy Shelby.”
Is Cillian Murphy Honest About His Tattoos?

In response to the persistent query, Cillian-Murphy has never had body art. In the wildly popular sitcom “Peaky Blinders,” he wonderfully sports the appearance with artistic inks, but it has been made clear that they are only temporary.
But you can’t really blame the viewers for thinking they were real because Loz Schiavo, the stylist on the “Peaky Blinders” set who created them, made them look quite convincing. The temporary inks produced by Tattooednow, a firm that creates lifelike temporary tattoos, were used to create the works of art.
Additionally, Loz didn’t just choose random patterns from the internet to enhance Tommy Shelby’s “Gangster” appearance. The intricate meanings behind each of Cillian-Murphy’s tattoos were detailed by tattoo artist Tattooednow in an Instagram post.
Because Cillian’s character Tommy Shelby is not particularly religious, the sun’s rays that can be seen on his chest were taken from an actual tattoo that also included Jesus among the rays.
Additionally, the word “Forrard,” which is meant to be a variation of the word “Forward,” can be seen on his right bicep. Tommy’s time in the military served as inspiration for this.
On his left bicep, a rose and a horseshoe are also intertwined. This serves as proof that Tommy obtained a valid license to wager on horse races.
Talk about being meticulous!
The final emotional memorial to Cillian’s family—Tommy, his wife Grace, and his son Charlie—is a marking of the initials T, G, and C on his right arm.
Fans are sure to be captivated by the inkings due to their realistic finish and significant meanings. On that note, it can be claimed that the final product was expertly created by tattoo artist Tattooednow and stylist Loz Schiavo.
Adding to the fan’s intrigue, Cillian-Murphy was once more noticed in the suspenseful film “A Quiet Place 2” sporting ink on his bicep, enhancing the character’s rough and rugged appearance and finishing it off with a beard (which drove the fans CRAZY).
He was seen wearing the artwork and half-sleeved shirts in a few interviews, but based on recent appearances, it is clear that this was also a fake.
But because Mr. Murphy is a cunning and secretive type, we wouldn’t be surprised if he got a tattoo one day without informing a single person. Cillian is a reclusive individual who values maintaining his privacy.
What is known is that Murphy and Irish visual artist Yvonne McGuinness were married in 2004 and that the couple is happy with their two children, Malachy Murphy and Aran Murphy.
But thanks to his parts in movies like “Peaky Blinders,” “The Dark Knight Trilogy,” “Inception,” “Breakfast on Pluto,” “A Quiet Place 2,” and many others, Cillian has given us enough to look forward to.
