Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, best known for his portrayal of Jaime Lannister in the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, is happily married.
He has been married to Nukaaka Coster-Waldau since 1997, almost 25 years.
The actor’s beloved wife revealed in a June 2021 Instagram post that they met when they were both 26.
“Once upon a time, two young 26-year-olds, one with a soft beard and one with soft round cheeks, met and played young lovers in a feature, and a love tail’s first page was written [sic],” she recalled in the caption.
“Today, with less soft beard and less puffy cheeks, blessed with two beautiful souls in their lives, and many new stories to tell,” she added, “you can add the age with 25 [sic].”

While Nikolaj is a well-known actor, his wife is also well-known in the fashion and entertainment industries.
Nukaka, who was born in Uummannaq, Greenland, in 1974, was crowned Miss Greenland in 1990. She went on to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant in 1990, finishing 19th in the preliminary round.
In a 2014 interview with InStyle, the Nightwatch star gushed about falling in love with the pageant queen. “I think it took her longer,” he said. I exhausted her. “I was crazy in love.”

Nukaka is an actress in addition to being a pageant queen. In 1997, she met her future husband, Nikolaj, while performing in a radio play.

Nukaaka and Nikolaj have two children from their marriage, bringing their family to five. Philippa and Safina Waldau, their daughters, are their only children.
Their daughters have begun careers in the entertainment industry, following in the footsteps of their parents.
For example, their daughter Filippa appeared in The Girl and the Dogs, a Danish short film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014.
Similarly, in December 2018, the couple’s other daughter Safina portrayed Simone in Theo og Den Magiske Talisman, a Danish Christmas TV series.

Interestingly, Nikolaj’s wife Nukaka has not seen Game of Thrones, the hit show that features some of the actor’s best work.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2017, the actor revealed that he “dragged” his wife to the first episode’s premiere, but she hasn’t watched the show since.
“She keeps promising that she’ll watch it with a friend,” he said. “… It’s all right. You can’t just say, ‘You’ve got to watch me.'”
Nukaaka Coster-Waldau has a small online presence.
Despite being a well-known personality and the wife of a well-known actor, Nukaka avoids the spotlight and has a limited online presence.
She has nearly 12,000 Instagram followers under the handle [@nukakacosterwaldau].
On Instagram, she occasionally posts photos of herself with her long-term partner, family, and nature.
