Her arrest was confirmed by the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office in Crawfordville, Florida, according to PEOPLE. The reality star was detained on Thursday, but she was later released.
Kim Plath, her ex-husband Barry, and her nine children Ethan, Micah, Hosanna, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy were all featured on Welcome to Plathville. Four months after divorcing Barry, she was arrested. They had been separated after nearly 24 years of marriage.
According to a statement the Sheriff’s office provided to PEOPLE:
She was held because a warrant from another agency was still active. She turned herself over to our organization. Today, she turned herself in to be arrested at the sheriff’s office in the lobby.

The family gained notoriety for leading a very distinctive lifestyle from others. Their kids were homeschooled, didn’t have access to video games or electronics, and never had sugary drinks.
During Season 4 of the reality series, Kim said that she and her now-ex-husband Barry were living apart. As she moved to an empty rental home, she said that they were spending time apart. Kim continued, saying
“This is not how I expected it to be at all. Simply said, we are at a period of significant transition right now, and I am unsure of what that may entail. Barry tried for a while, but I felt like he wasn’t really giving it his best.

“I feel deceived without a doubt.” We were the only thing I had faith would never change. Now it’s totally different. Simply said, it is quite sad. It’s terrible. I see a woman who is stuck when I look at her. Even though I’ve bought her flowers and presents, I’m still hoping that she’ll change.
In a joint statement to US Weekly, the ex-couple declared their divorce in June 2022. After “much thought and talk,” the couple from Welcome to Plathville decided to get divorced.
