Rapper and soloist Jackson Wang of GOT7 talked about his most recent album, MAGICMAN, and being himself. In the behind-the-scenes clip from the artist’s Head in the Clouds Festival published by Vogue, the 28-year-old gave viewers a glimpse into his life backstage.
The great artist has talked about the difficulties he faces as a K-pop star. This time, he claimed that his most recent album, MAGICMAN, is the only one he is content with and that it represents him at his most “raw” point in life. Jackson Wang disclosed during the program’s preparations:
I’ve never been happy with myself, no matter what I achieve. And I think this album (MAGICMAN) is the first instance in which I find it to be appropriate. “Never in my life have I felt so raw.”
MAGICMAN and Blue’s music videos were both published on September 9. Although Wang’s music videos have long been recognized as creative eruptions, his most recent album once again highlights his creative talent.

Although everything appears to be going well right now, Jackson Wang admitted in a behind-the-scenes interview with Vogue that the same daily grind of being an idol has left him feeling “lost” and “depressed.”
“I had been working in this field for 8 to 9 years when I found myself lost and in a rut. It’s just scheduled after schedules, you know, things after things. I was so depressed.
The decision made by GOT7 to leave JYP Entertainment and pursue solo projects gave him a fresh start. The group is still alive. He claimed that he wanted to be himself completely. When questioned about the process, he responded,
“I just said, ‘You know what? I simply want to start over and forget about who I was and what I was. And for a moment, I want to be myself. It a 100% me. letting my audience know who I am while being open and honest with them
Jackson Wang acknowledged that being an artist is a difficult life, but he also believed that everyone who supported him on his musical journey was supporting the “real Jackson.”
“Well, I might not be perfect. Some people won’t like me. However, at the very least, you are supporting the real Jackson if you like me and support me.
Similar emotions were stated in his Instagram post announcing the album’s release as well as in a moving letter to his fans and the Staff WANG team in which he described his journey and thanked everyone for their support.
Wang has served as CEO, rapper, performer, composer, designer, producer, and director for many years.
