The first time Embry and Mabrey wed was on July 17, 2005. Cogeian Sky Embry is their son from his previous marriage to Amelinda Smith. In April 2012, however, after only seven years of marriage, the pair split.
The divorce proceedings were initiated by her. In the divorce documents she filed in LA County Superior Court, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. One year later, they reconciled, indicating that she lied.

In November 2013, he informed Tara Richter, a relationship counselor, on her FoXXXy Forum podcast that his dating life was chaotic. “My ex-wife and I are currently dating,” he said on the show.
In addition, he joked that he enjoyed introducing her to others as his ex-wife and that the dinners she paid for were assisting him in recouping his alimony payments. They renewed their engagement two years later.
