Everything regarding The Shadows of Knight and Jimmy Sohns
Jimmy Sohns became well-known while playing in the rock group The Shadows of Knight. About his personal life, there is currently no comprehensive information available.
When The Shadows of Knight was first conceived in 1964, it was originally called Shadows. Five albums were released by them while they were active. Among the first members were Warren Rogers, Roger Spielmann, Norm Gotsch, Wayne Pursell, Tom Schiffour, and Jimmy Sohns.
The group performed in the northwest suburbs of Chicago between 1964 and 1965, and they later established themselves as The Cellar’s house band in Illinois. Their performances drew over 500 young people, and in 1992 a tape of their performance was released.
They became well-known after the 1965 release of their song Gloria. The trio then released the album Gloria, which was followed in 1966 by Back Door Men.
However, their singles did not attract as much attention as Gloria’s did, and the group eventually disbanded. Tom Schiffour and Bruce Bruscato were two of the band members who left.
Jimmy Sohns became the sole owner to the band’s name when he was the only member still alive in 1967. Shake, the band’s second song, was released in 1969 after the group quickly signed a deal with Buddah Records. The band continued to play in clubs throughout the 1970s while adding numerous new members. John Fisher, Glass Menagerie, Woody Woodruff, Dan Baughman, and Ken Turkin all joined the group.
The remaining band members were replaced over the course of several years. Sohns served as Skafish’s road manager from 1978 to 1990.
The band’s records were later reissued by Sundazed Records in remastered form. They have performed on numerous times, and Rick Mullen joined them on their 2006 tour. In 2008, the band performed with Nazz, Vince Martell, and Henry Gross as part of The Psychedelic Shack Tour. They subsequently performed in a concert in August 2016.
