After a string of setbacks, Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig and his wife Lauren are expecting their first child.
On Saturday, February 11, the 30-year-old actor posted an Instagram mirror photo of the couple caressing Lauren’s baby belly while their dog, Yam, sat beside them.
The actor also included a lengthy caption that read:
“It’s been a long journey, and we wanted to make sure everything looked good this time.”
They said the baby would be born in May 2023.
Lauren Ludwig, Alexander Ludwig’s wife, founded the gender-neutral jewelry company THEIR
Lauren Ludwig was born in Canada on December 16, 1991. She is the founder of THEIR, a gender-neutral jewelry company that uses recycled materials, according to her Instagram account. She was in charge of marketing for VRAI, a Los Angeles-based luxury goods and jewelry company.
In July 2020, Alexander Ludwig and Lauren announced their relationship on Instagram. In November of the same year, the Hunger Games actor proposed, and the couple married. They will marry in The Lodge, just outside of Salt Lake City, in December 2020.
Alexander Ludwig announced the news on Instagram, writing:
“We had decided to elope. It’s been a difficult year, but it’s helped to put things in perspective. Life is too short, and I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to call this lovely lady my wife.”
Alexander Ludwig revealed in a recent Instagram post announcing their pregnancy that the couple had three miscarriages prior to their current pregnancy, “but each of those losses taught us about ourselves and each other. ” They did, however, reassure miscarriage victims that they are not alone and that “light on the other side of your journey” exists. Lauren revealed the couple’s third pregnancy loss in an open Instagram post in May 2022.
“Last week, @alexanderludwig and I miscarried for the third time. I chose to share because I don’t think it’s a disgrace to talk about it. I want people to understand how common miscarriages are and that they are not to be ashamed of.”
She went on to say that after such a traumatic loss, she realized she wasn’t alone and that, while common, “it’s not spoken about nearly enough.”
“Perhaps if more of us talked about these things, we’d feel less alone and responsible. “Knowledge is power, and I want to start sharing more of it.”
Alexander Ludwig will next be seen in Marked Men and The Covenant.
