Linda Dash and Dennis Dash, her youthful parents, both abused heroin. Dash’s parents’ addiction made for a bad home environment that never improved. She was forced to reside with another family when she was four years old because of this. Unfortunately, she was violently attacked by a teenager who lived there, and his parents restrained her.
Dash continued on her own because she was unable to tell her parents her story. When she was just 12 years old, the former television star learned that her parents had a drug issue. In the woods behind her grandparents’ house, she found her father’s kit and abandoned it there.
When her father found out, he became enraged and beat tiny Dash, forcing her to give back the equipment. Dash persevered despite coming from a terrible upbringing and eventually forgave her parents.
The Dash Family, Stacey
Dash’s parents, from whom she acquired her Mexican and Afro-Bajan origins, apparently did not provide her with the love and support she sought. The Bronx native acknowledged that she had no relationship with either of her parents during an interview with the Fallen State in July 2018.
When she was sixteen years old, her mother introduced her to narcotics. As a result, Dash battled addiction and existential problems. She even admitted to having suicidal thoughts.
When Dash got embroiled in an abusive relationship, things only got worse. She claims that her ex-boyfriend beat her, hitting her in the legs, breasts, and any other exposed areas of her body.
Stacey Dash was still in a bad state when she fled her abuser and fell pregnant with musician Christopher Williams’ child. She was on her way to the abortion clinic. On the other side, her life was altered by her parental responsibilities. Dash gave birth to Austin Williams, her first child, on October 29, 1991.
A day before giving birth to her kid, Dash spoke to her father for the last time in many years. She claimed that he overdosed and was taken to the hospital in the aforementioned tell-all interview. Just before he breathed his last, he and the daughter had a brief but poignant conversation.
Dash was shocked and heartbroken by her father’s untimely passing. She claimed to be aware of his medical condition, yet she still said she was upset that he had chosen drugs over her. She also asserted that she had pardoned him.
After that, the talented artist talked about her mother, recalling a moment between her and her daughter just before her passing in November 2017.
Dash expressed her thankfulness for being able to forgive her mother in time and forge, however briefly, a decent relationship with her. The mother of two even said that she learned morality, ethics, commitment, and hard work from her early struggles.
