According to a coroner’s report, Aaron Carter inadvertently drowned in his bathtub after taking drugs. Carter, the younger sibling of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, was discovered dead in his Lancaster, California home on November 5.

Alprazolam, frequently marketed under the brand name Xanax, was detected in his system.

Difluoroethane, a compressed gas, was also detected. According to the report, it is a “commonly used propellant in air spray cleaners” that “can induce euphoric feelings when inhaled.”
