The son of singer/actress Patti LaBelle and her ex-husband Armstead Edwards, Zuri Kye Edwards is a music producer and manager.
Patti, the famous mother of Zuri, gained notoriety as the former lead vocalist of the singing group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. With songs like You Are My Friend, If Only You Knew, New Attitude, Stir It Up, On My Own, and others, she continues to be popular.

Zuri Kye Edwards, the lone biological child of Patti LaBelle and Armstead Edwards, was born on July 17, 1973. Patti and Armstead adopted two sons from their deceased neighbor after Zuri was born.
Among Zuri’s parents, his mother Patti was the one to make the marriage proposal to his father, Armstead Edwards.
In reality, Edwards had proposed to Patti. In truth, Zuri’s father made many marriage proposals to the Stir It Up singer, but she declined each time. Later on, LaBelle herself proposed to Armstead.
Patti reportedly declined Armstead’s proposal since she was the daughter of divorced parents who frequently quarreled. She was worried that she and Edwards could experience the same thing.

Patti and Edwards have one biological son, Zuri, and two adopted sons after getting married. According to some, they also adopted the two children described above.
After more than three decades of marriage, Zuri’s parents, LaBelle and Edwards, divorced in 2000. In an interview, Patti claimed that after realizing they could no longer coexist, she and her husband parted ways.
The R&B artist added that even though the marriage was disintegrating, things remained remarkably pleasant. After Edwards, rumors surfaced in 2016 that Patti was secretly seeing her drummer, Eric Seats, who was 41 at the time. The purported couple allegedly had been dating for over a year at the time.
The son of Patti, Zuri, is wed to Lona Edwards, with whom he has a son, Zuri Jr., as well as two daughters, Gia and Leyla. It’s interesting to note that Gia and Leyla, Zuri’s young daughters, share a single Instagram account.

Although Gia and Leyla occasionally mention their mother Lona on Instagram, little is known about Lona Edwards. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is purportedly home to LaBelle’s son and his family.
Zuri is currently Zuri’s manager and bodyguard for his mother. He has reportedly also produced a few songs in the interim.
Zuri has been referred to be his mother’s manager ever since the publishers began to talk about him. As a result, it is not entirely clear what he did before that.
