The elder Jon Bon Jovi has finally spoken out about his son’s engagement to the Golden Globe and Emmy winner Millie Bobby Brown.
On Tuesday (May 2), the musician discussed his 20-year-old son Jake Bongiovi’s connection with the 19-year-old Stranger Things star on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM Show, Radio Andy.
Cohen began the broadcast by expressing his happiness for the “Livin’ On A Prayer” singer. The musician was quick to note that three of his four children had weddings coming up.
The newest one, absolutely,” Jon Bon Jovi affirmed. This is “three of my four.”
Cohen probed the Grammy winner, wanting to know if he thought it was too soon for Brown and his son to get married. He kept equating their relationship to that of the musician.
Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi had known each other since they were teenagers. They secretly wed in Sin City in 1989, during the height of Jon Bon Jovi’s fame.
When asked about his views on age and love, the rock singer said immediately that he doesn’t care.
I don’t think age is a factor,” he remarked. That is, “If you find the right partner and you grow together.”
He went on to give sound counsel that he thinks his kid and his bride-to-be should take to heart.
The singer said,
“I think that would be my advice, really.” As they say,
“Growing together is wise.”
Jake Bongiovi, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, 29, Jesse Bongiovi, 28, and Romeo Jon Bongiovi, 19, are all happy with the relationships they’ve chosen, according to the singer/songwriter.
I believe that my offspring have all located friends with whom they feel a shared future is possible. All of them are great, he said. “Millie is fantastic. She comes from a wonderful family. Jake is overjoyed at the moment.
He laughed off the topic of whether or not he had seen Stranger Things.
“Of course, I’ve seen it,” he said with a grin, confirming that he had.
The couple’s engagement was announced by Brown on Instagram with a black and white photo and a quotation from Taylor Swift’s number one hit “Lover.”
Jake also used his own social media to tell the story of the proposal by the water. The caption read, “Forever,” which was his declaration.
In November of 2021, the couple officially began dating. There is no more information regarding the wedding that has been confirmed.
