The current CEO and one of the company’s founders of Creative Technology, a Singapore-based multinational technology firm famous for its multimedia software, hardware, and services.
He started the company in 1981 with just $5,000 in the hopes of creating innovative technologies that will alter people’s relationships with computers.
Mr. Sim led his organization to become a global powerhouse famous for its innovative and high-quality offerings.

Sim “passed away peacefully,” the Company stated in a statement on January 5th, calling him “arguably Singapore’s most well-known IT entrepreneur.”
On behalf of everyone at Creative Technology, the Board of Directors sent its sympathies to Mr. Sim’s family following his untimely passing.
The circumstances surrounding Mr. Sim’s passing remain unknown as of this writing. Surprisingly, no past health problems of the CEO have been reported.
According to reports, Lee Kheng Nam will take on the role of acting chairman. A previous chief independent non-executive director, Mr. Lee has extensive experience in the role.
Businessman and entrepreneur Sim Wong Hoo did quite well for himself. At the time, he was the youngest billionaire in Singapore. The 45-year-old technology visionary from Singapore.
The multinational technology corporation, with present locations in Shanghai, Tokyo, Dublin, and Silicon Valley, made US$61 million in revenue in 2022.
In 2006, Mr. Sim gained widespread attention when his company, Creative, sued Apple for infringing on Creative’s patents related to the iPod.
After years of legal wrangling, the two companies settled out of court, leaving Creative US$100 million better off than before their “David and Goliath” dispute.
In contrast, Mr. Sim penned a full-page newspaper ad paying respect to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs after Jobs’ death from pancreatic cancer in 2011.
Karen Ngui was married to a global corporation’s CEO and co-founder. Together, they produced a boy and a daughter.
Sim Wong Hoo’s wife and children, although members of one of the most prominent business families, have managed to avoid public attention.
Surely this news has devastated the Sims. Our thoughts are with the family of the departed businessperson.
Mr. Sim will be forever admired for his role as a foresightful leader who shaped the modern technological landscape.
The late businessman’s family was of Zhao’an Hokkien descent, and he was born in Singapore in 1955. He completed his high school education at Bukit Panjang Government High.
In 1975, after finishing high school, Sim Wong Hoo graduated from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering program at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
After completing his mandatory National Service, Mr. Sim spent a year working as an engineer in the private sector.
