Palka is in her late-60s. It is practically impossible for a woman to get pregnant at that age. Thus, the popular weatherwoman was likely joking and adding some spice to her appearance in the show. Sue Palka Family Background And Ethnicity
The legendary meteorologist was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, in the 1950s. Her parents often brought her to visit her aunt, uncle, and cousins in D.C. They enjoyed learning about the area’s history since they were from a snow belt where snowfall averaged over 100″ per season. She found it hilarious when her uncle, aunt, and cousins told her that schools frequently closed for as little as 2″ of snow.
She wrote on FOX 5’s blog that never in her wildest dreams did Sue think she would get to forecast the same school-closing 2″ at 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 pm. During her career at FOX 5 as a chief meteorologist, she covered hurricanes on the ground and from the air inside the famed Hurricane Hunter’s aircraft. She chased tornadoes and witnessed the total eclipse of the sun in Curacao.
She added, “several life events have been recorded, including riding in a hot air balloSeveraldling a boat in the Tidal Basin, the president lighting the National Christmas Tree, and, for a few years while my girls were younger, Halloween at my House.”
But according to Sue Palka, the best part is constantly meeting her viewers in person to provide travel weather forecasts.
