Mrs. Davis, also called Lou, died in a hospital six days later.
The young man, whose identity is protected by law, showed up for a hearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

District Judge Leo Pyle gave the child bail until his next court appearance, but he had to help the police out before to the hearing.
