On October 17, 1937, Harry was born in Greece, and he emigrated to Canada in 1955. He made his home in Brantford, where he began working in the food business.
In addition to working at other restaurants, he co-owned Club 21 until 1964.
Along with his son Gus, he founded Admiral’s in 1988, serving up a menu of classic Canadian cuisine that quickly won over both residents and tourists.
Because of his compassion and charity, Harry was referred to as “The Admiral.” He contributed to several organizations and causes and sponsored several sporting teams, most notably the Harlequins Rugby Club.
In addition, he loved his family and friends and was a faithful husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandfather.
Maria, his loving wife of 62 years, survived Chatzis. George (Linda), Helen (John), and Gus (Maria) are the children he leaves behind.
The grandkids of Harry (Amanda), Maria (Nick), John (Katie), George (Jessica), Christina (Mike), and Nicholas (Katie) are also part of Harry’s heritage.
His great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lucas, Ava, Zoe, Leo, Mia, and Theo, all cherish his memory. In addition, Harry’s sister-in-law Helen and brother George (Eleni) survive him.
His influence is also felt by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom treasure the experiences they had with him.
Cause of Harry Chatzi’s Death: How Did He Pass Away?
His family or the funeral home has not formally declared the cause of death of Harilaos “Harry” Chatzis, therefore the circumstances surrounding his demise are still shrouded in mystery.
It is commonly believed, therefore, that Harry passed away from natural causes, capping a long and fruitful life.
His well-being had been excellent until he was hospitalized due to a recent stroke, which indicated a decline in his health.
Harry’s funeral ceremony is set for Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11 a.m., and family and friends are welcome to attend and offer their condolences.
The McCleister Funeral Home in Brantford will host the event. A viewing will be held at the same site on Thursday, November 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., before the funeral.
Following the ceremony, Harry will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery.

The family has asked that instead of sending flowers, well-wishers think about donating contributions to organizations that were close to Harry’s heart.
It is suggested that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Harlequins Rugby Club to continue Harry’s legacy.
