Joshua Cephus, the joyful son of Trenesa and Rodney Cephus, was born on March 5, 2001. He grew up with three brothers and a sister in an athletic family. Aaron Cephus, one of his brothers from Houston, Texas, graduated from Dekaney High in 2016. Aaron’s high school years were filled with outstanding achievements, including lettering in football, basketball, baseball, and track.
His agility garnered him all-district recognition in both football and basketball, highlighting his versatility. Aaron honed his skills at the university level, playing two seasons for Rice University in Houston. He left an indelible imprint at Rice, totaling 1,187 yards and 10 touchdowns in 22 games.
Notably, he became Rice’s fastest player to amass 1,000 career yards. Aaron’s strong performance earned him a berth on the 2017 C-USA All-Freshman squad. In addition, he won the George R. Brown Offensive Award as the Owls’ top receiver. Aaron Cephus currently works as a Lead Instructor at It Can Be Done Fitness.
He is also interning at the XFL in Field Operations, proving his dedication to sports beyond the playing field. Aside from Aaron, Joshua has kept his other siblings’ identities hidden.
