Robert Downey Jr., an American actor, sent his wife Susan a heartfelt message in honor of their 17th wedding anniversary. On August 27, the 57-year-old actor took to Instagram to share a previously unseen image of the pair on their traditional Jewish wedding day. The image’s caption read as follows:
“Today marks our 17th year of unwavering marital bliss. Susan, you are my pillar of support, compass, and lucky star all rolled into one.
The pair received many congratulations in the post’s comments section from friends and family.

Working together on the 2003 movie Gothika, which was produced by Robert Downey Jr. and directed by Joel Silver, Susan and Robert first got to know one another.
She was a vice president of Silver Pictures, and she enjoyed enormous success with the movie Gothika, which also starred Halle Berry. The producer said to Harper’s Bazaar that while she thought the Iron Man star was “strange,” she was “not in the slightest bit” captivated by him.
After meeting Robert, Susan remembered one specific instance:
We had lunch with the director and Halle Berry while in Montreal for Gothika filming. While Robert told us about oatmeal’s status as a “superfood,” everyone else ordered Japanese.
For lunch, he brought his own oatmeal packets. He also has a box with a variety of plants in it. Then he started doing these yoga poses. He was unusual and intriguing.
They started dating and fell in love right away. They got hitched in Amagansett, New York, in 2005. Robert Downey Jr. has been credited with overcoming his drug addiction with the aid of Susan.
The Sherlock Homes producer allegedly gave the actor the option of choosing her or drugs. She said in a 2009 interview with Harper’s Bazaar:
“This won’t work,” she said. I was very clear when I said that if you stayed with me, nothing would happen.
Robert stopped at a restaurant along the Pacific Coast Highway after Susan issued her ultimatum and threw the drugs he was carrying into the ocean.
“I think he saw what we had. There was something great happening, but we couldn’t place it. He says we became this third entity that none of us could have been on our own when we joined forces, and I believe him when he says that.
Robert Downey Jr. stated that his wife helped him put his troubled history to rest in an interview with the news website The Things.
The only reason, I think, is that I’ve become more like her. I’m still looking for the cause of the issue. When I first met Susan, I didn’t realize how much more I would wonder what I would get, despite whatever it was I was seeking.
After getting married in 2005, Robert Downey Jr. and Susan welcomed their son, Exton Elias, into the world in February 2012. The couple welcomed a girl named Avri Roel as their second child in November 2014, which was two years later.
However, Robert Downey Jr. had previously been married. He was married to singer Deborah Falconer from 1992 to 2004. The child of the former spouse is known by the name Indio Falconer Downey.
