According to Trump supporter Scott Perry, the FBI visited the former president’s Mar-a-Lago house on Monday and confiscated his phone. The congressman told Fox News that FBI officials asked him to hand over his phone while he and his family were on vacation.
“This morning, while traveling with my family, three FBI agents approached me and confiscated my cell phone.” They made no attempt to contact my attorney, who would have arranged for access to my phone if that is what they want.”
Perry stated that he was outraged by the action and lambasted the Department of Justice. In addition, he said that his phone contains legislative, political, and personal data that is “none of the government’s business”
“I am disturbed, but not shocked, that the FBI, at the direction of Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice, would seize the phone of an active member of Congress.
My phone carries information on my legislative and political activity, as well as conversations with my wife, family, and friends. This has nothing to do with the government.”
Congresswoman Liz Cheney stated that Perry called the White House immediately following the January 6 Capitol Riot to request a pardon before the FBI took action. The Republican, though, vehemently refuted the story.
In its May report on the attack on the Capitol on January 6, the House Select Committee accused Scott Perry of “direct involvement in efforts to corrupt the Department of Justice and install Jeffrey Clark as acting Attorney General.”
In addition, the committee stated that Perry had previously interacted with the White House on subjects related to the House Select Committee’s continuing investigation of the Capitol Riot. In addition, “allegations that Dominion voting equipment was corrupted” were contained in the communication.
The committee also charged Perry with texting former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to inquire about the potential of selecting Jeffrey Clark as attorney general prior to January 6.

Scott Perry is a politician who represents Pennsylvania’s tenth congressional district. When he was seven years old, he came to Dillsburg from San Diego, where he was born on May 27, 1962.
In 1980, he graduated from Dillsburg’s Northern High School and then Cumberland-Perry Vocational-Technical School. In 1991, Perry received a bachelor’s degree in business administration management from Penn State University.
The United States Army War College granted him his master’s degree in strategic planning in 2012. Perry’s first employment, according to his official biography, was gathering fruit at Ashcombe’s Farm near Mechanicsburg at the age of 13.
The California native also worked as a draftsman, a mechanic, a dock worker, and a licensed insurance agent, among other vocations. In 1993, he and his mother founded Hydrotech Mechanical Services Inc., a mechanical contracting business.
Scott Perry’s military service began in 1980 when he joined the Army. He received basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey and technical drawing instruction at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.
He was also the valedictorian of Officer Candidate School in Pennsylvania and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.
Perry qualified as a helicopter pilot in Army Aviation and ascended through multiple posts, including executive officer of the 1st Squadron, the 104th Cavalry Regiment (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2002–2003), commander of the 2nd Battalion (General Support), and the 104th Aviation Regiment in 2008.
The 60-year-old also commanded the 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom between 2009 and 2010. He engaged in about 44 combat missions as a member of Task Force Diablo.
Prior to becoming Commander of the Fort Indiantown Gap National Training Center, he was appointed to the rank of Colonel in 2011. In the end, he was selected to study Strategic Studies at the United States Army War College.
In 2014, Scott Perry was promoted to Brigadier General and appointed Assistant Division Commander of the 28th Infantry Division. In 2019, Brigadier General Perry resigned from his position as Assistant Adjutant General of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
Ascent In Politics
Perry served as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 4th congressional district from 2013 to 2017 as part of his political career. In 2018, he also won re-election in the newly redistricted 10th Congressional District in Pennsylvania.
During his tenure as a Pennsylvania State Representative, Perry purportedly earned a reputation for championing the interests of Harrisburg’s taxpayers.
The Appropriations, Consumer Affairs, Labor Relations, Veterans Affairs, Emergency Preparedness, and Rules Committees received new members.
Scott Perry is a member of the US House of Representatives Transportation & Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs Committees. He was also elected chairman of the House Freedom Caucus.
Even the Carroll Township Planning Commission and the Dillsburg Area Wellhead Protection Advisory Group were under his leadership. The representative is also a member of the Dillsburg Revitalization Committee and the Township Source Water Protection Committee.
