Matt Goss, a 53-year-old musician, is one of the contestants on Strictly Come Dancing. In 2016, he made headlines after reuniting with his brother Luke Bros and performing for their band ‘Bros’ after 25 years apart.
Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly will serve as hosts, while Anton, Shirley, Craig, and Motsi will return as judges. Strictly Come Dancing is a dance reality program in which celebrities and professional dancers perform ballroom dance.
The official Strictly Come Dancing synopsis states:
“Upon the return of the Bafta Award-winning program to BBC One, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will walk the red carpet with the 2019 class.” The star-studded lineup will then enter the Strictly ballroom for the first time, anxious to discover with which professional dancer they will compete for the coveted Glitter Ball trophy.”

Matthew Weston Goss is a songwriter and musician. His twin brother Luke played drums for the 1980s musical group Bros, in which he was the lead vocalist.
He has also released five studio albums as a solo artist. Nonetheless, he composed the theme song for So You Think You Can Dance, hosted by Nigel Lithgow. In addition, his ensemble was widely recognized as the archetypal 1980s boy band.
However, it all came to an end when they collapsed under the weight of debt and internal conflict. They divorced three years later after Luke informed Matt of the following:
“I’m through. It is no longer pleasant.”
However, events took a turn for the unexpected. 25 years later, when Luke called Matt, the rift between the two brothers was healed.
Matt and Luke Goss reformed Bros after meeting in a Hollywood restaurant three months after the reunion. Following the announcement of their reconciliation, tickets for their concert at London’s O2 sold out in seven seconds.
In an interview with Mirror, the Strictly Come Dancing participant also stated:
“It’s fair to say we didn’t get along and didn’t talk for a long time,” she says.”
He then continued:
“I must admit that the situation was exceedingly difficult and quite personal. The greeting altered the entire situation. Luke is once more my closest friend.”
Matt then described the parallels between the two brothers:
“We were born on the same day, grew up together, and attended the same elementary school.”
Then he stated:
“Back then, we were in the same band.” We shared a fundamental identity. It was too much.”
Luke pursued a career as an actor, appearing in films such as Blade II, while Matt pursued a successful solo career. Moreover, despite residing in the Los Angeles area, they rarely saw one another after the band broke up.
However, after their cherished mother Carol passed away from cancer in 2014, tensions in their relationship began to diminish. Strictly Come Dancing will premiere on BBC One at 7:00 p.m. ET on September 23.
