Camargo met his wife, Rylance, while filming in London in 1997. He was 26 and she was 18 at the time. He was infatuated with Rylance for three days, but they remained friends.
When she was in New York in March 2008, they planned to meet. They started dating immediately. Camargo was infatuated with her. He made three proposals to her before she accepted the third one.
In November 2008, on the final night of Cameron’s production of All My Sons, they decided to get married. John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest, his co-stars, joined them and sang a wedding song for them.
As a child, Rylance witnessed her own wedding in front of hundreds of people, with a grand carriage taking her to the massive ceremony. But her marriage at the city hall made her happy with Camargo.
In 2010, she told the New Yorker, “I understand that the marriage is more important than the wedding.” Rylance migrated to the United States following his marriage.
In 2016, they acquired a dog named Garth, relocated to Joshua Tree, California, and owned a home in London. Unfortunately, it appears that they have separated. Camargo has a new business associate.

Camargo has been dating Dutch model and bag designer Sylvia van der Klooster since 2019. The couple announced they were expecting their first child on July 1, 2019. Klooster posted a bright Instagram photo of her expanding baby bump.
Although they are frequently photographed traveling on social media, the pair has not divulged any details about their relationship. Elan was born on November 19, their first child. Camargo released an emotional video of his son’s birth, marveling at Klooster’s “bionic abilities.”
In the piece, Camargo also stated why he called his child Elan. “Elan, your name has multiple connotations, including tree, vitality, and (my favorite) friend,” he remarked.
Buddy is an alias for Elan Jacobus Camargo. Instagram also displays Camargo’s fondness for his new companion. On Mother’s Day 2022, he referred to her as “my queen” and stated she was Elan’s “best possible mother.”
