The first two binge-worthy episodes of Making the Cut’s brand-new season launched on Amazon Prime Video on August 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Emily Bargeron, an entrepreneur, and designer was born and raised in a close-knit family in Savannah, Georgia. The talented applicant acquired her passion for design and fashion as a child while playing with her grandmother’s dresses.

Emily obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion or Apparel Design from Georgia Southern University prior to working as the Statesboro Herald’s Pagination Supervisor and Graphic Designer.

After her designs were well-received at Charleston Fashion Week in 2009, she decided to pursue fashion design full-time and founded Mamie Ruth.

Emily noted in the preface of Making the Cut that her fashion business is named after her grandmother, Mamie Ruth, who she characterized as “95 and still kicking.”

The candidate claimed that her grandmother was always impeccably dressed and that Emily’s fashion sense was influenced by her.

Emily elaborated on her inspiration source, stating:

“Since you enjoyed clothing, you had to be incredibly inventive and create these items on your own. I am committed to expanding my brand. I’ve been doing this for more than a decade and am on the verge of establishing the next global brand.”

The participant in Making the Cut operates three businesses in Savannah, Georgia: the Mamie Ruth store (a vintage shop), an ice cream shop/gift shop, and a creative T-shirt firm. Emily designs apparel that is “very colorful and reminiscent of a period when you were happy.”

In the season premiere, as part of their evening-war assignment, the contestants were required to present two ensembles, which would be displayed as part of a catwalk event on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Emily chose a rainbow-colored tiered skirt, which the judges believed did not fit the project’s requirements, whereas the other participants presented a variety of styles, colors, patterns, textures, and designs.

The experts stated that the two-piece outfit was “too daytime” to be worn at night.

Although the colors of her second accessible jumpsuit were lovely, the judges on Making the Cut felt that the waistline ruined the overall design and “felt cheap.”

The contender agreed with the comments and requested another chance from the judges. Heidi, on the other hand, revealed that Emily was eliminated from the competition because she “didn’t make the cut.”

The winner of Making the Cut will receive mentoring from Amazon Fashion, the chance to sell out a collection in the Making the Cut shop, and $1 million to invest in their business.

In addition, they will have the option to design additional color variations and complementary products for the shop.

The first two episodes of Making the Cut Season 3 are now available on Amazon Prime Video. The next two episodes are scheduled to air on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
