On March 12, 1998, Steve Dangle was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When he first started writing for his high school newspaper, he went by the moniker, Steve Dangle. All of the participants had to choose a nickname, and Steve chose the hilarious moniker “Floyd Dangle.” He revealed to The Eyeopener:
“Steve “Floyd Dangle” Glynn appeared in every story I published over the year. Then I decided to call my YouTube channel Steve Dangle, although I did not immediately start posting. I did not see a cause to modify the page once it attracted a lot of attention. Steve Dangle even appears in my work email.
Only those closest to him use his real name while addressing him. Thanks to his former girlfriend Sarah-Louise, who worked at Future Shop, Steve was able to get his first webcam at a discount. He advertised his channel via MSN Messenger because social media wasn’t as popular back then as it is now.
Steve Dangle’s pals didn’t do much to promote his channel
Without meaning to offend any of his pals, he said, “I was my biggest supporter; everyone thought I was stupid.”
“The videos were terrible when I first started, but now I think they’re okay,” the speaker said. “I don’t blame them.”
Dangle had to get another employment because he couldn’t make enough money from video blogging. He was able to secure employment with CBC, Nike Canada, the Toronto Zoo, and the Kontinental Hockey League thanks to his degree from the RTA School of Media. Unfortunately, he only had the temporary opportunity. Added him:
It was very upsetting because there were times when I believed I had finally succeeded. Leafs TV, they were airing my films live on television. They were unable to bring me back since their funding was cut. Then I started working for CBC, but I had to wait till the lockout ended since they were unable to retain me after that season. It was incredibly difficult.
The future of Steve Dangle may not involve creating YouTube videos
The development of YouTube material has been very successful for Steve. In addition to the media attention he gets, YouTube provided him with the venue to publish his widely praised book This Team is Ruining My Life (But I Love Them):
He admits, nevertheless, that he might have a career outside of YouTube. He admitted to The Eyeopener that he had no idea that creating material would lead to such heights of success when he first started. He, therefore, avoids making prognostications about the future. He stated:
“I never imagined that video blogging would be a possibility when I first started making the videos because it was not a viable business at the time. At the time, there were no resources available to help someone succeed in that sector.
Rumors are going around that the cherished LFR series created by Steve Dangle is coming to an end. Whether the rumors are real or not is unknown, but we can be certain that Steve Dangle will pursue any upcoming projects with the same passion.
Dangle claims that he truly believes everything he says, despite accusations that he exaggerates in his videos.
I can’t do it; people would be able to see straight through it, he added. “Some guys are skilled at stirring the pot,” he continued.
