Quinta Brunson and Lisa Ann Walter did not attend the Super Bowl solely to support the Philadelphia Eagles. They also supported Sheryl Lee Ralph, who sang the Black National Anthem, with pride!
Sheryl Lee Ralph is fortunate to have such a unique television family. Quinta Brunson and Lisa Ann Walter were both in attendance at the Super Bowl on February 12 to support Sheryl, 66, who sang the Black National Anthem at the beginning of the game.
During Sheryl’s performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” Quinta, 33, and Lisa, 59, took a photo together in the audience. Both Quinta and Lisa wore Philadelphia Eagles jerseys to promote the hometown of their popular television show.
Lisa tweeted the photograph of herself and Quinta. Lisa remarked on the photo,
“Booth crashing to watch Sheryl! @sherylleeralph @quintab @abbottelementary represent.” Additionally, the Parent Trap actress uploaded a selfie of herself in the stands during the game.
Following her performance, Sheryl sent a video to Twitter in which she thanked all of her fans. “I’m at the Super Bowl and I’m feeling fantastic.
Thank you for your wonderful tweets and comments regarding my performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Today, it is 123 years old. “I appreciate everyone’s participation at a moment when we must all come together,” she remarked.
Sheryl also stated,
“I appreciate everyone’s comprehension. Some never will, while others always will. God grants us all peace and unity. We will continue to battle until victory is achieved.”
Prior to the performance, Sheryl discussed the significance of performing the Black National Anthem.
She told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY days before her performance, “I appreciate that the NFL has chosen this year to push towards diversity and inclusivity by including the Black National Anthem alongside the American National Anthem and one of the best songs ever, ‘God Bless America.'”
The native of Waterbury, Connecticut also stated, “It’s simply a lovely time.” She won her first EMMY for Best Supporting Actress for Abbott Elementary in September 2021, making her the first Black woman to accomplish it in 35 years.
