On January 10, 2023, Tyre Nichols died suddenly, three days after Memphis Police Department officers had stopped traffic. Thus, interest in the case of the black guy slain by five police officers is high.

African American guy Tyre Nichols was a loving father to a little son. He loved his family and was a proud parent.

Tyre was the life of the party, as well as being a devoted spouse and a loving son to his parents.

The 29-year-old was the baby of his family; he was the youngest of four children. The ‘nice child’ spent his Sundays doing laundry and preparing ready for the week, according to his mother, Ravaughn Wells.

Tyre was a free-spirited individual seeking a fresh life in Memphis, Tennessee.

His life was sadly cut short earlier in January following a harsh arrest by five Memphis Police officers. He had just relocated to Memphis just before the Covid-19 epidemic.

How did five police officers murder the black man in Tyre Nichols’ death?

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Nichols was first stopped on January 7, 2023, for allegedly operating a vehicle carelessly.

He was reportedly on his way home when he was stopped around 80 yards from his residence.

According to the police, there was a fight when they drew near to Nichols, and another one broke out after he ran away.

In addition, the black guy was given a hospital stay after complaining of respiratory issues. Mr. Tyre died away three days later, on January 10, 2023.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the TBI have both opened investigations into Tyre’s death.

Following a request by Tyre Nichols’ family for an autopsy, it was discovered that he had suffered “extensive bleeding from severe violence.”

The five cops in question, according to Nichols’ family, were in an unmarked vehicle when they beat him so severely that he had a cardiac arrest and renal failure.

Autopsy and case investigation for Tyre Nichols

On January 7, the district attorney got in touch with the TBI to inquire about allegations of excessive “use of force” during the arrest.

The officers involved will face “administrative action,” the Memphis Police Department (MPD) said on January 15.

Additionally, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) are also conducting investigations.

The MPD released the five culpable officers—Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith—on January 20.

Similar to this, three days later, two Memphis Fire EMTs who were on the ambulance had their employment terminated.

The body camera video of the incident will be made available to the public later in January, Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland revealed.

The body camera video will be given to the family on Monday, January 23, once the report’s findings have been made. The general people will also get it.

According to the Nichols family lawyers who viewed the film before the family and said it made them think of the Rodney King video, the black guy was a “human pinata” for the cops.

Update And Reaction To The Tyre Nichols Death Case

Tyre’s family held a news conference and retained Ben Crump as counsel after Tyre’s death.

Ben Crump said at the conference that he had received promises from the TBI, FBI, and Shelby County District Attorney’s office that the footage of the event will be made public within 1-2 weeks.

In addition, a number of demonstrations are being staged in reaction to the murder of an innocent man.

In 2018, during an attempted traffic stop, Martavious Banks was shot several times by local law enforcement; this is not the first time Memphis police have come under fire for employing excessive force.

Public access to a video of the arrest was made possible in 2020. Banks eventually settled a lawsuit against the city in 2021 after an investigation discovered that cops had their body cameras off, in violation of departmental policies.

Hopefully, justice will be served to Tyre Nichols and his whole family.
