Billie Eilish References Johnny Depp Defamation Trial In Her Song During Her Uk Tour

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish referred Johnny Depp’s defamation case against Amber Heard during her UK tour. Her second album, Happier Than Ever, is currently receiving support as she travels the entire United Kingdom on tour.

Eilish performed at Manchester’s AO Arena on June 7, during which she debuted a brand-new song called TV. The words of this song, which are solemn and depressing, are about the recently finished Depp v. Heard trial.

Eilish took the stage while sitting on a stool with her brother and bandmate Finneas, who was accompanying her on acoustic guitar. She said as she began the song:

Since 2017 or 2018, we haven’t performed a brand-new song live before it was released. This one was just a simple composition that we wanted to perform for you.

Before addressing the case that dominated social media, Billie may have referenced her recent split with Matthew Tyler Vorce.

The song’s lyrics are fairly blunt as she talks about how people are more interested in seeing two celebrities argue in court than other significant events that will have an impact on society for years to come. London, Birmingham, and Glasgow will be among the additional British cities that Billie Eilish will visit on her tour.

Life of Johnny Depp following his Oscar victory

In the defamation case against Amber Heard, damages of $10.35 million were awarded to Johnny Depp. Depp had filed a lawsuit against Heard in 2018 after she identified herself as a victim of domestic violence in an opinion piece for The Washington Post.

The jury granted the Aquaman actress $2 million in compensatory damages after she filed a countersuit against Depp. Johnny Depp said in a statement that he got his life back after winning the lawsuit because:

Even though no charges were ever brought against me, “false, solemn, and criminal assertions were levied against me in the media, sparking an unrelenting deluge of hostile material.”

After six years, the jury, according to him, had given him back his life. He continued by saying that despite being aware of how difficult the legal obstacles would be, he decided to proceed with the complaint.

Because he was scheduled to perform in England with Jeff Beck, Johnny Depp was not present on the day of the verdict. He spent $60,000 at an Indian restaurant in Birmingham after his victory with Beck and the tour crew.

On May 29, 2022, Depp and Beck will perform at Sheffield City Hall, followed by a performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor joined TikTok as well and expressed his gratitude to his fans in a moving statement.
