Gallia County Sheriff Mat Champlin said in December of 2022 that 44-year-old Larry Coon, of Pomeroy, was shot and killed in a domestic incident in Clay Township.
According to Sheriff Champlin, the suspect family member, Bobby O. Coon, age 40, of Gallipolis, was taken to Gallia County Jail.
Following the event, Sheriff Champlin disclosed that Larry M. Coon, a 44-year-old resident of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away as a result of the wounds he received in the shooting on January 1, 2022.
At around 2:51 pm, the Gallia County 911 center got a report regarding a shooting that had taken place at a residence on State Route 7 South in Clay Township, according to Sheriff Champlin.

Sources claim Bobby O. Coon, age 40, of Gallipolis, was taken into custody at the scene and has been incarcerated in the Gallia County Jail.
