Brandon Fried Was fired from The Neighbourhood

Brandon Fried

The Neighborhood vocalist Mara Zardoya accused drummer Brandon Fried of sexual assault on Sunday, November 13. As a result, Fried was fired from The Neighborhood. Brandon Fried backed up the accusations after Zardoya called him out on Instagram and accepted responsibility.

Zardoya, the lead vocalist for the pop group The Marias, characterized the encounter as “one of the most terrible encounters to date” in an Instagram story on Sunday. The drummer allegedly groped her without her consent in a pub, an “infringement of space, privacy, and body,” according to the story.

Last night, Brandon Fried touched me beneath the table when I was in a bar. The experience was among the most disturbing I’ve ever had. My body, privacy, and personal space felt violated.

She noted The Neighbourhood in the article and added:

The rock group responded to Zardoya with a statement after the accusations were made, announcing that Brandon Fried had been fired.

Brandon Fried is seeking help for his problems

The Marias, a band made up of Maria Zardoya and Josh Conway on drums, posted a blog about the occasion on their Instagram page on Sunday. Shortly after Zardoya’s tweet went viral, The Neighbourhood, which consists of (former) drummer Brandon Fried, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margot, and singer Jesse Rutherford, posted a statement on Twitter.

They praised the artist for speaking out and declared that they will never tolerate any kind of violence against women. The group also said:

As a result of his actions, Brandon will no longer be a part of The Neighbourhood.

In addition, the drummer expressed regret on Instagram Stories to Zardoya, The Neighbourhood, and their fans. He expressed his “devastating regret” for inappropriately approaching Zardoya and expressed his regret to any ladies who had experienced any behavior that had violated or uncomfortable them.

Brandon went on to say that although his acts with The Marias vocalist did not represent him as a person, they did reflect the person he became when under the influence and that they were inexcusable and intolerable.

He continued by saying that he had started therapy to address his problems with alcohol and drug abuse. He concluded by regrettably disappointing his comrades and fans. Since he assumed control of the job in 2014, Brandon Fried has served as the group’s drummer. He has not yet been replaced, according to The Neighborhood.

The stand-alone tune “Fallen Star,” from The Neighbourhood’s most recent album, was made available last year. Before that, the band, which was formed in 2011, released their fourth studio album, “Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones,” in September 2020. Due to lead singer Jesse Rutherford’s developing relationship with Billie Eilish, the band has recently attracted a lot of media attention.
