The rapper couple revealed that they are the most recent celebrities to receive a signature meal in time for a Valentine’s Day date. Cardi B and Offset surprised fans by starring in a new McDonald’s commercial that aired during Super Bowl LVII on February 12.
The commercial featured the couple, as well as numerous other couples demonstrating their love for one another by reciting their partner’s favorite McDonald’s menu item.
In addition to the announcement, it was revealed that the couple would be the latest celebrities to receive a Valentine’s Day-exclusive McDonald’s meal.
In clips featuring the duo, they were shown holding hands in a booth with a starry background, and Cardi, 30, demonstrated that she knew what Offset, 31, likes when he visits McDonald’s.
She said,
“He enjoys a quarter-pound burger.” Also, a Hi-C. He is a simple person.” Cardi demonstrated in the longer commercial that she was aware of some of his modifications (no onions).
As for snatching french fries (we’ve all done it), Offset demonstrated a willingness to share with his wife. What is mine is also hers? “They do not steal,” he declared.
In a new interview with Complex, Cardi, and Offset discussed their opportunity to collaborate on the campaign.
Cardi B stated that she becomes “emotional” when the Super Bowl approaches, and she described how their lives can become hectic due to business and how they like spending time with their families.
The two appeared quite excited to co-star in the commercial. “He is truly my closest friend. We are the greatest of friends,” Cardi remarked.
Offset also expressed his happiness that his family could see the commercial together.
“I enjoy working alongside my wife since we’re leaving a legacy for our children,” he explained.
In addition to the commercial, the couple revealed that McDonald’s will release a special “Date Night” meal on February 14 (just in time for Valentine’s Day).
According to Today, the meal consists of a Quarter Pounder, a cheeseburger, a large Coke, a large Hi-C, an apple pie, and large fries (to share).
