People helped the relevant authorities in their hunt for Casey Oakes after the news of his disappearance made waves in the media.
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) issued a news release on March 30, 2023, at 2:45 PM. The public is assisting AMPS in their hunt for a missing Akwesasne resident.
Furthermore, according to AMPS, there is no evidence that Casey Oakes was hurt. Because of his prolonged disappearance, police are continually looking for Oakes to ensure that he is safe and restored to his family.
30-year-old Casey Oakes was reported missing. At about 9:30 p.m., he was last seen boarding a small, light blue ship that was departing Cornwall Island’s east end.
Oakes was last seen sporting a black vest, snow pants, a black face mask, and a black toque, according to their news release.

An aviation search was launched in the afternoon after the Canadian Coast Guard was alerted by the Akwesasne Mohawk Police. Additionally, it was noted that the helicopter will be hovering nearby and searching the area for any signs of Casey Oakes.

Update on the Casey Oakes case
The find was made when police were searching for Casey Oakes near where he had last been seen.
Eight deceased migrants’ corpses, including two children who had died while trying to enter the US illegally from Canada, were discovered, shocking authorities and the search team.
Two more bodies were recovered in the St. Lawrence River on Friday by a police helicopter. Two family each from India and Romania are among the fatalities.
Authorities were searching for Casey Oakes, 30, a missing boater in the area, at the time. Casey Oakes is still being searched for in search parties.
Additionally, there has been an increase in rumors about Mr. Oakes’ potential relationships with the family.
Around 17:00 local time (21:00 GMT), the first body was reportedly found in a swamp in Tsi Snaihne, a Mohawk territory close over the US-Canada border. There were other corpses discovered nearby.
Six adults and two toddlers were also among the dead. One child was under three years old and had a Canadian passport.
The local police chief told reporters during a news conference on Friday that the second baby was also a citizen of Canada.
The bones are believed to be from two families, one with Romanian and one with Indian ancestry, according to Lee-Ann O’Brien, deputy head of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service.
