Chase Harmon, 19, seemed to have died from a single gunshot wound, according to James Prisock, a deputy coroner for Jackson County. Harmon and six other individuals were shot during the Cinco de Mayo party on the restaurant patio, according to Ocean Springs Police Chief Mark Dunston.

Update on the Mississippi shooting

Dunston said that the suspect’s identity would not be made public while the inquiry is still open. Detectives don’t want any specifics to contaminate any prospective material since they are still interrogating individuals.

According to Brittany, the alleged shooter skipped the security checkpoint without being frisked and immediately began firing. Alexander claims that it seems the shooter and the victim knew one another, even though the police have not yet verified this.
After receiving care, some wounded persons were discharged, while others were sent to local hospitals for medical assistance. While one person had surgery, another was sent to a hospital in New Orleans. The Sun Herald reports that Ocean Springs Mayor Kenny Holloway was present as the site was being inspected by law officers on Saturday.
